Originally called the Mermaid’s Pool when it was built in 1947, this family favourite is found cuddled between the beach and Wally Weekes Pool at the end of North Bondi Beach. In the late 1980s, local artists installed a mosaic mural beside the pool that included ceramics made by local children in school art rooms. Sadly, by 2018 concrete cancer had taken its toll on the mural, which has now been removed, though pieces have been saved for the Waverley Council’s Local Studies collection.
