Dee Why Rock Pool

In 1912 the enterprising and energetic members of the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club carved a roughly 20 square foot pool out of their beach’s rock shelf by hand. A few years later they started raising money to have the pool enlarged. In 1919 and then again in 1930, the pool was expanded until it was big enough to hold 50-metre lap lanes with a children’s pool attached. In 2019 it was renamed the Isa Wye Rock Pool in memory of a local woman who dedicated 85 years to the Dee Why Ladies’ Amateur Swimming Club.
