South Curl Curl Rock Pool

Now three pools in one, the South Curl Curl Rock Pool started as a natural swimming spot that was turned into ocean baths in 1926. It wasn’t long before the pool was extended in the 1930s and the original wall became the new pool’s inner wall. When the men’s and women’s Amateur Swimming Clubs united in 1966, part of the pool was sectioned off to create a standard Olympic-size pool for their races. Today you can power up and down those 50-metre lanes, or simply relax in the basin area and wading pool while soaking up the view.
