History

Sitting at the southern end of Coogee Beach, this pool is a hit with photographers and painters alike, thanks to its charming castle, or should that be sandcastle, style walls. Small wonder! Built in 1947 with Commonwealth compensation payments for wartime damage to Randwick's beaches, the pool has two sections including a children's area that can either be full of water or a big sandbox. While the main pool isn't all that deep you can usually still manage some freestyle moves, or just lie back and relax.
